Mumbai Indians hosts Kings XI Punjab in the second match on Sunday night, with both teams looking to collect their first points of the IPL season. While MI were unable to defend a decent total, after a super partnership between Rohit Sharma and Corey Anderson, against KKR, KXIP had themselves to blame for playing around with their batting order in a chase against RR.
The Wankhede stadium is something of a fortress for the hosts, with a solid record over the years. MI will be worried about their bowling unit, with Malinga looking off colour and the spinners not effective. They also suffered a batting collapse losing three wickets early on.Rohi Sharma has been their savior more often than not, but they need other players to step up.
Punjab had a tremendous season last year, but they will do well to keep in mind that they lost both matches to MI. Kings XI has a well settled team and will be hopeful the loss against RR, was nothing more than a blip. They would prefer batting first as that allows the likes of Glenn Maxwell to bat much more freely. Mitchell Johnson should enjoy bowling at the hard turf, bringing his strengths into play.
