Royal Challengers Bangalore

Think RCB and the words flair and flamboyant come to your mind. Star studded , yet hugely underachieving. Tats RCB for you. With some neat additions to the squad, the Bangalore outfit will be hoping, that this finally is the season they have been waiting for.

The triumvirate of Gayle, Kohli and De Villiers are the torch bearers for RCB. Gayle has produced many blistering knocks but at the same time has failed to deliver when it really mattered. Kohli has had a poor year by his standards and his lack of form last season was one of the key factors in the downfall of RCB. AB De Villiers on the other hand is in prime form and one of the most feared batsmen in World cricket at the moment. He is a complete package and Dinesh Karthik and Bisla's addition to the squad should see him freed of keeper duties, a huge relief no doubt.S Badrinath is another key player and can play the anchorman role perfectly.Darren Sammy should fill the all rounders role while Mitchell Starc completes the overseas quota as the prime wicket taking bowler. However he will be out for at least two weeks because of injury and that should see  RCB opting for Russouw or Adam Milne depending upon the balance of the side.Varun Aaron has had good exposure with the Indian team and will have to step up, especially when Starc is missing.Dinda, Abdulla and the surprise package of last season Y Chahal complete the squad.

Plugging in the deficiencies, RCB played it smart during the auctions to add some much needed balance to the team.A good home record and blistering form AB De Villiers should see them qualify for the semis.
