IPL Match 9 preview - RR vs MI

Rajasthan Royals take on Mumbai Indians at one of their home grounds, the Sardar Patel stadium in Motera, looking to continue their impressive start to the IPL campaign. Its been a trademark team effort by the Royals so far and they will be confident against a deflated MI side which have begun their season with two losses, though the manner of last season's ousting at the hands of MI might still be haunting them.

RR have got their season to a fine start with wins over DD and KXIP, their fielding performance standing out. Deepak Hooda has been a sensation and the Royals will be hopeful he continues his big hitting. The bowling went for quite a few in the last match, but they have plenty of utility players in the squad who can make up for it. Skipper Shane Watson sat out of the first two games, and is still struggling with injury. Apart from that, RR looks a happy unit and are the favourites for this one.

MI have suffered batting collapses in both their matches and seems to be over dependent on Rohit Sharma and Corey Anderson. Last year's hero Lendl Simmons could play his first match in place of Aaron Finch who has failed to shine till now. Malinga's lack of form hampers their bowling big time and he has to get back to his usual best, if MI have to progress in the competition. Harbhajan Singh had a memorable day against Kings XI last time out and will be looking to make full use of the regained confidence.
